The S1000RR has been re-engineered for 2021, the BMW supersport motorcycle. . The framework that BMW calls ‘the Flex Frame’ is completely new and is a twin-spar aluminum chassis with a subframe for trellis. The frame uses a lighter steering head and motor mounts with a stressed part of the engine.
This engine is a new 999cc, four-cylinder in-line engine. At 13,500rpm the engine produces 204bhp and 114Nm with 11,000rpm torque. The machine is fitted with a standard 6-speed gearbox with a two-fold rapid shifter. This also has ShiftCam technology from BMW, which changes the intake valve timings and packs.
You have 205 HP underneath you still drive to the border and in the search for the ideal side. With the largest torque of 83 lb.-ft and a torque curve of at least 74 lb.-ft over a range of 5,500 to 14,500 [rpm], your RR is driven to full with unbridled power. The RR is your perfect partner when it comes to high performance. Not only on the lane but the route. You can remove the overall mirror as well as the license plate bracket in a few easy measures, and you have a racer wheel.
The optional M Kit converts your RR into the last racing vehicle. In this case, weight is reduced again by around 7.7 lbs. to just 427 lbs. In addition to its Motorsport finish, the Ride Modes Race Pro 1-3 and the electronic assistance systems including DTC+/–Shift, ABS, engine mapping, wheel control, and slide control, and many more are also available on the M carbon wheels, M battery, M seat with M passenger seat cover and M swing arm pivot.
Four cylinders and unrivaled performance
The new four-cylinder powertrain of the RR is the newly built engine. The peak production not only rose to 205 HP at 13,000 rpm, but it also improved the torque curve. With the latest ShiftCam system, BMW’s choice of opening the valve time and lifting through the camshaft, also in low-to-mid-speed engines significantly greater torque and power is applied.
Furthermore, many other components have been adapted to enhance weight, space, and design further. A new timing design, hollow-boiled titanium intake valves, and an improved multi-disc, anti-hopping wet clutch (-20N). These include a new timer. Given that the engine is smaller and about 9 lbs. lighter, handling and ergonomics are much improved. Once you turn it on, you’ll find that right away.
BMW S 1000 RR: First Travel Summary
As early as 2010, BMW Motored introduced a motorcycle that defined new standards within the segment of liter-class. It was a motorcycle called S 1000 RR, which received MotoGP-inspired electronics, track speeds, and a 190bhp inline four-cylinder engine, much more than its rivals, which gave around the 160bhp ballpark!
Through the years, although others had to close their performance and handling gaps, the S 1000 RR has been improving and providing additional power and riding assistance, while staying a step ahead of the game. Now after a decade, BMW launched the 2019 model, the 3rd generation supersport model, a modern machine with fresh architecture, newly built engines, modern frame, and a hundred new and enhanced rider supports, according to the manufacturer.
First, BMW went from a peculiar asymmetrical design to an asymmetrical design with a pair of lightweight LED projector lamps. The first thing you can see is that the new S 1000 RR features a completely new fashion that compacts and sleeks the bike. For turn indicators, the brake light has now been incorporated, giving the light a clean and streamlined look at the rear. BIC’s bikes were the most elegant Pro M sport with red, white, and blue livery and carbon fiber wheels that made it look beautiful.
The 2021 S1000 RR is now also fitted with a semi-digital 6.5-inch TFT instrument screen. The three other ones include a host of information such as a lap-timer, best run, DTC settings, brake release pressures, and a lean angle indicator, one is a picture that is pure and shows only the important details for the riders. The app also has Bluetooth navigation and call warnings connectivity. Overall, the new console makes setting up the bike much simpler or navigating through the different settings as necessary.
